BRIAN D. BARATZ, CPA
When Brian Baratz graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Rutgers University and began working in his chosen profession, he recognized that there was a need for a new kind of accounting firm.
What he envisioned was an accounting firm that was large enough to provide clients with a diversity of services, yet small enough to provide personal service, and he set out to do just that, founding Baratz & Associates, P.A. in 1982.
With clients representing a broad spectrum of the business world from individual proprietors to publically traded corporations, he grew Baratz & Associates, P.A. from a staff of 4 to 45 caring professionals under his 25 year leadership. As the firm transitions to new leadership, Brian’s legacy is still felt and carried on in the cornerstones of the company – innovation, client service and expertise.
A licensed CPA in New Jersey, Brian was an examiner for the United States Trustees Office and the U.S. Department of Justice. He served as a Bankruptcy Court Trustee and a United States Bankruptcy Court Mediator as well as an expert witness in cases involving business valuation, stockholder disputes, and bankruptcy negotiations. Brian was a seminar panelist for The Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and appeared as a guest on the Camden County Bar Association public service television show, “Legal Line.”
Brian maintained membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, The New National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the AICPA Tax Division. Baratz & Assoiates, P.A. will continue active involvement to carry on his legacy.
During his tenure as the firm’s leader, Brian was very involved in the community. He served on the boards of numerous organizations including Rutgers University Deans Council, American Heart Association, Cherry Hill Chamber of Commerce, Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, and Jewish Geriatric House. He was also the past president of Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill. His support and activity in the community will surely be missed.
